Meet WK2 Candles

WK2 Candles is pronounced, WK squared candles. WK squared stands for our
family's first names, Winton, Winton, Karen & Kalee. The first Winton is my husband.
The second Winton is our son, who actually goes by his middle name Miles. Of course
Karen is my name. Then Kalee is our daughter. Our vision is that this is a family
business in which we all work and participate together.

We re-located to Dayton, Washington, in 2006, from Athens, Texas. I have had
a dream for years to manufacture and sell scented jar candles. You see I love candles!

I want a candle with a soft even wax and extra fragrance. It has been a great
experience, researching, experimenting, and naming our candles. Our children
have been very involved with naming our candles. It is a family event when
we make our candles, from measuring the wax, melting the wax, adding
the color and fragrance; to setting the wicks and then pouring the candles.
In the spring of 2002 Winton and I were looking at business opportunities
that we could do as a family. We wanted something we could market on the
internet as well. Since I loved candles, especially scented jar candles that
is what I kept coming back too. We marketed another companies candle on the
internet and we really weren't happy with the quality. I had in my mind what I
wanted and didn't know where to start. So, with Winton's help, we researched
the waxes that are available. I wanted a soft paraffin wax that burns evenly.
I also wanted a very strong fragrance level in my candles. So, finding a wax
that will take the amount of fragrance was a challenge. When we found the
wax the next step was finding a wick that burns correctly without a lot
of smoke or mushroom.

The fall of 2008 we had our candles to the point that we wanted others
to give us their opinion. We have 16 different fragrances, but have access
to over 2500 different fragrances. We do manufacture custom scents.
We welcome your suggestions. At this point we manufacture our candles in
our home, as a family. The manufacturing process is all by hand, from
measuring the wax, dye, and fragrance to melting and then pouring our
candles into the jars.

It is our goal to sell our candles to shops and retail stores as a wholesaler,
as well as retail here in Dayton, WA and on the internet. Our customer's are
the ones who decide what fragrances we offer. It is a very individual taste as
to what pleases the sense of smell. Because of this we welcome request
from our customer's. If you describe the fragrance, we can come up with
what you want.
